Skin Cancer Patient 36
Oasis Eye Face and Skin | Ashland, Medford, Grants Pass, Oregon
Here’s a 74-year-old man that was sent to board-certified oculoplastic surgeon Dr. Schiedler for a lesion on the lower eyelid, which she suspected to be common skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma. Dr. Schiedler biopsied it comfortably by gently numbing the lid using special techniques and sent a sample to the pathologist who confirmed the diagnosis. Dr. Schiedler then removed the rest of the lesion in her office using frozen section views of the tissue edges and verified with the pathologist. In the same session, Dr. Schiedler reconstructed the eyelid. The patient healed well with favorable cosmetic and functional results.
