This 53-year-old woman had developed bulging eyes due to thyroid disorder. This caused the lower eyelids to drop well below the cornea, showing the whites of her eyes. She was experiencing watery eyes and a burning sensation from the exposure and dryness. Dr. Schiedler saw significant keratopathy at the slit lamp, or corneal damage from the dryness. She repaired the lower lid retraction with upward lift using hard palate grafts. She also blended the appearance of bulging eyes. The patient was very happy since her eyes no longer watered and her vision, comfort and appearance were markedly improved.
