Non-surgically rejuvenate your face at Oasis Eye in Ashland, OR.

XEOMIN®

At Dr. Vivian Schiedler’s Oasis Eye practice in Ashland, OR, Dr. Schiedler offers a variety of non-surgical aesthetic services. Much like BOTOX® Cosmetic, XEOMIN®, is used by men and women to address angry or intense looking frown lines and forehead folds and furrows, as well as crow’s-feet, jelly rolls under the eyes, bunny lines over the nose, gummy smile, and a sad or downturned mouth. She has extensive experience with treating spasm disorders of the face and eyes, giving her a unique understanding of how muscles work in concert on the face in order to achieve a natural, relaxed look without paralyzing or freezing parts of the face. In her hands, it is difficult to see telltale signs of having had these treatments.

XEOMIN® contains a safe and effective prescription medication that blocks the release of chemicals that causes your forehead muscles to contract so the frown lines and folds are softened. XEOMIN® is another cosmetic injectable option for those patients interested in non-surgical facial rejuvenation.

What is XEOMIN®?

XEOMIN® is a neuromodulator or a wrinkle-relaxing injection that is made by Merz Pharmaceuticals. XEOMIN® is approved by the US FDA for treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. Unlike its competitors, XEOMIN® is a “naked injectable,” meaning that it does not contain any additives. The major benefit of a pure-form injectable is that the human body is less likely to become resistant to XEOMIN®.

XEOMIN® is a highly purified neurotoxin and is clinically proven to temporarily improve the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines in adults. XEOMIN® received FDA approval in 2011 for use in glabellar lines, which is the area between the brows.

How Does XEOMIN® Work?

XEOMIN® diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles that create them. XEOMIN® temporarily reduces the contractions of the muscles that cause those persistent lines that have developed over time around your eyes and between your brows. It has been approved by the FDA for the temporary treatment of moderate to severe frown lines in people ages 18 to 65.

One of the great benefits of XEOMIN® is that XEOMIN® is a “lunchtime” procedure which typically takes Dr. Schiedler 10 to 15 minutes to inject. Using XEOMIN® to remove or reduce fine lines and furrows requires no recovery. You can see an improvement from your XEOMIN® treatment within two weeks, and the results may last for up to four months.

Is XEOMIN® Right for Me?

During your personalized consultation with Dr. Schiedler, she will advise you if XEOMIN® can help you achieve your facial cosmetic goals without a frozen or strange look. Some common facial sites for XEOMIN® treatments include:

  • Lines between the brows (glabellar lines)
  • Grooves in the forehead
  • Wrinkles around the eyes (crow’s feet)
  • Jelly roll or puffy muscle under the eyes when smiling
  • Bunny lines or wrinkles at the top and sides of the nose
  • Brow asymmetry (one higher than the other)
  • As a browlift which allows the forehead muscle to relax
  • A slightly droopy eyelid
  • Gummy smile
  • A square face due to overactive strong chewing muscles
  • A sad or downturned mouth

XEOMIN® is for adults only and should not be used by patients that have had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product such as BOTOX® Cosmetic or Dysport®..
