Fight the visible signs of aging with Restylane® at Oasis Eye in Ashland, OR.
The eyes are the first part of the face to show signs of aging. Early changes are dark circles under the eyes giving a tired appearance, or hollowing under the brows above the eyes, causing a gaunt look. Dr. Vivian Schiedler can help restore lost volume around the eyes with a dermal filler called Restylane®. It has special properties that make it a great choice for use around the eyes. Most importantly, it does not tend to swell as much as other products and tends to stay where placed, unlike some other fillers that can migrate to undesired locations and start to look lumpy or unnatural or puffy. It is a technically finicky service that requires precision and an expert injector.
What is Restylane®?
Restylane® was the first dermal filler approved by the FDA in the US in 2003 for use in nasolabial folds. It is a clear soft gel made of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance found between all our tissue cells and in our joints. It is made in a lab under very strict conditions. If necessary, it is reversible with the use of an enzyme.
How does Restylane® work?
Restylane® works by adding volume to smooth away wrinkles or gently fill sunken areas. It slowly breaks down naturally and eventually needs to be reinjected.
Where does Restylane® work best?
- Corrects moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds)
- Adds fullness and definition to thinning lips
- Sunken hollows or dark circles below or above the eyes
Who are good candidates for Restylane®?
Both men and women who are noticing dark circles under the eyes, thinning lips, or deep folds around the mouth could be good candidates for Restylane®.
